Frequently Asked Questions
HOW TO APPLY SOAKLY
STEP 1
Adjust drawstrings
The drawstrings are sewn into the back of Soakly, then channeled through various loops, and pulled to the front side of the soaking cloth. Begin by locking the drawstrings comfortably in the center.
STEP 2
Place on face
Use the ear loop drawstrings located on the sides of Soakly. Choose the loops that sit above the first loop, or between the first and second loops. Simply grasp them, then place Soakly against your face looping the drawstrings over your ears.
STEP 3
Adjust and wear
Adjust the drawstring by pinching and releasing the locking clasp until the drawstrings sit below your chin where the back of your jaw meets the top of your neckline.
Then adjust Soakly to lay flat over your neckline and décolletage. It’s much like adjusting a neck tie.
GENERAL QUESTIONS
Do I wash my face before using Soakly?
Yes, pre-wash your face with a non-abrasive facial cleanser to clean off any impurities prior to using Soakly. The goal is to remove makeup and any impurities from your skin, so that you expose your pores.
How can I incorporate using Soakly to my routine, when I only have a single product (a daily oat cleanser) that I use?
We totally feel you...each person, each face is not created equal. Using Soakly enhances your current routine. By adding a weekly soak to your regime, you will see a softer, brighter glow. Use a dime size of your oat scrub to pre-wash your face. Then follow the recommendation for using Soakly. Finish up with another dime size amount of the oat scrub to your face. Use the exfoliant portion of the cloth on your neck and décolletage. You will see a healthier glow to your face, neck, and décolletage in no time!
How often should I use Soakly?
You should only be exfoliating your face once a week (as recommended by dermatologists).
I have acne, should I use the exfoliation portion Soakly on my acne or will I do more damage?
Whether the acne is mild or more severe, regular exfoliation will smooth and soften the skin and brighten your complexion. It also helps reduce breakouts by keeping the pores from becoming clogged with dead skin cells and oils. So, Soakly it up and get your exfoliate on!
I use a Facial Cleansing Brush (e.g., Clarisonic) daily, should I discontinue this use?
Not at all! In fact, adding a weekly exfoliation you will see a softer, brighter glow looking back at you in the mirror. We pinky promise!
AFTERCARE
The process of exfoliation increases circulation and removal of toxins from the skin. This is why you should drink plenty of water after exfoliating, which will support the new skin cells to come through. Apply moisturizer to hydrate the skin and limit sun exposure for 24 hours after exfoliation.
CONSIDERATIONS
Do not use Soakly’s built in exfoliation cloth on inflamed, sunburned, or damaged skin including skin with cuts or abrasions. Further, do not use after shaving or if you have specific skin conditions like thin skin, sensitive skin with breakouts or eczema. Do not use the exfoliation cloth in combination with any other exfoliant, and never with a chemical exfoliant. If you have or suspect you have a skin condition that could prohibit the use of the exfoliation cloth or any exfoliant please consult with a physician or dermatologist. BEFORE USE & CARE
Soakly has been carefully sewn by local artisans using the finest materials from the USA and abroad. Like a good friendship, show it care and it will last for years to come. We recommend washing Soakly before using it for the first time. To thoroughly clean and preserve Soakly’s color and texture please follow these care instructions:
- Pre-soak in hot water with a splash of vinegar for 15 minutes
- Place inside a mesh laundry cleaning bag
- Machine wash on cold, separately, on the gentle cycle
- Use color-safe bleach only
- Remove Soakly from the washing machine immediately after the spin cycle
- Tumble dry low, without any fabric conditioner or dryer sheets
Can I wash Soakly with other terry cloth (towels)?
Although it sounds tempting, we recommend you wash Soakly separately.
Does the terry cloth fade or discolor when washed?
The terry cloth used in Soakly can last for a very long time. Be sure to follow the care instructions and it will keep your Soakly looking and feeling as good as when you first purchased...prolonging the life of the fabric and limiting color fading.
Will the terry cloth shrink?
Although the terry is pre-shrunk, because it’s 100% cotton, it will shrink slightly through the first couple cycles, this is normal and expected.
